Nova Scotia MP fighting prostate cancer (CBC via Yahoo! Canada News)- symptoms of prostate cancer
SCOTIA (CBC) - A Nova Scotia MP who was kicked out of the federal Conservative caucus for voting against the budget last year is undergoing treatment for prostate cancer
. Bill Casey, who sits as an Independent in the House of Commons, will undergo surgery on Thursday. He'd had no symptoms of prostate cancer and was caught by surprise when the tests and biopsies showed he would need the operation, he said. He expects a full recovery and plans to resume his political career by April, including seeking re-election. In June 2006, Casey had a cancerous growth removed from his back. Casey said he'll keep in touch with staff and they will handle any questions from constituents in his riding of Cumberland-Colchester-Musquodoboit Valley. read more
